Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. (1 John 2:24) NKJV
“We need to abide in the truth” are the words that resonated in me when I read (1 John 2:24) this morning and began writing my Devotional Thought for today. In the last days, the Lord has told us there will be many wolves in sheep’s clothing (Matthew 7:15). It means that many people coming in the name of the Lord will be imposters. They will be deceivers.
These imposters will lead people astray from the truth of God’s Word. That said, we need to know not only the Word of God but also the Author of the Word of God. Frist John 2:24 says, “Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning.” I urge us all to never lose our first love! Do you remember when we first met Jesus Christ and the love we felt for Him; do we still love Him like that?
“Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father (1 John 2:24). God tells us to abide in the truth. When I hear the words, “abide in the truth” what comes to my mind is an old cliché spoken by many, “Know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” The truth is Jesus Christ. He is the only truth, if we know Him we know the truth; He is the One we can trust.
Friends, an ambassador knows that his security is found in abiding in the truth – Jesus Christ. May we not allow ourselves to be sidetracked – may we hold fast to Christ; He is the truth. Would you Pray with me?
Dear Heavenly Father, I praise You and worship You. You are a great God. I love You and thank You for reminding me today of my first Love for You. Please help me to abide in Jesus Christ – Who is my truth. Father, I ask that You constantly remind me of the things that I heard from the beginning. Amen

God Bless and have a Blessed Day, Friends <><
