Job Description: COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST

As a Community Engagement Specialist, your mission is to connect people to Jesus while increasing visibility and awareness of The Bridge on a local level. You will be our 'eyes and ears' on the ground in the community primarily in Delaware, Maryland and Virginia, and occasionally in South Jersey.

You will be advising The Bridge on issues important to our listeners, representing The Bridge at community events, organizing promotions and events that The Bridge will sponsor or co-sponsor, meet with and advance communications with listeners, churches, donors, ministries and underwriters, and advance the ministry and mission of The Bridge.

Here is the experience and skills needed to excel in this role:
●    Have a passion for serving people and connecting people to Jesus
●    Exhibit grace under pressure
●    Ability to work closely with a team, but also do well working independently.
●    Excellent people skills. Must be able to present well in person and telephone
●    Detail oriented, able to prioritize, manage and execute events.
●    Be familiar with the Delmarva region, its people, churches and ministries.
●    Knowledge of Christian music, and familiarity with The Bridge.
●    Community outreach
●    Excellent time management and organization
●    Microsoft Word/Excel; Google Docs/Sheets; Zoom
●    Facebook & Instagram Platforms
●    Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Here is some of what you will be doing:
●    Representing The Bridge at concerts, community events and outreach initiatives.  
●    Working closely with volunteers to assist in community engagement. Assisting in Spring and Fall Fundraisers.
●    Suggest and create new and innovative ways to reach potential listeners.
●    Pro-actively stay informed of community, church, and area events. Strategically and creatively evaluate and plan participation for the strongest impact.
●    Work with local promoters and ministries to promote events that are consistent with the format and audience for The Bridge.
●    Organization and inventory of all promotion equipment and swag.  
●    Make sure logistics of events are set up in terms of displays, promotional items and ministry resources.

Job Description: BROADCAST MEDIA, DIGITIAL CONTENT, MARKETING AND EVENTS INTERNSHIP

The Bridge of Hope, Inc offers internships at the radio station in various departments as an opportunity for students to apply classroom theory to practical work experience. As an intern at The Bridge you will have exposure to, and gain experience in a broadcast radio organization. Our internship program allows students to experience firsthand the reality of working in the radio broadcasting industry. Interns can test their creative talent, exercise their analytical skills and increase their understanding of broadcasting operations and trends.

The minimum length of the internship and hours of work will meet the minimum requirements outlined by the intern’s school or university. The Bridge internship will not exceed 15 weeks, with a maximum of 12 hours of work per week.

The Bridge internship program follows a ‘Tell-Show-Do-Apply’ method of instruction. The internship can be weighted toward specific courses of study or area of interest.

Qualifications
All interns must be college students and receive college credits for the internship. Station department heads
oversee the internships to evaluate the interns and ensure they are receiving the proper education/training. Students
are expected to obtain and complete any forms necessary to receive credit for the internship experience. The Bridge of Hope, Inc will assist students with the completion of such forms and provide information concerning duties and responsibilities.

Opportunities
Internships are available year-round and are 12-15 hours per week, for a 10-15 week length program. Specific days and times will be agreed upon in advance. Internships at The Bridge of Hope, Inc offer exposure to, and experience in, a broadcast radio organization. Internship programs may include: Events Department, Marketing Department, Programming Department, Production Department, Donor Development, Business Development, and Engineering/Information Systems.
