Now Playing My Hope Is In You Aaron Shust

February 13, 2023

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. (1 Corinthians 12:4-7)

God has gifted each one of us. As ambassadors of Jesus Christ, we represent the Kingdom of God on earth. We all have a purpose for being here, and part of that purpose is for us to exercise the gifts that God has given us. That said, we need to know our gifts and operate within our gifting. If we work within the gift that God has given us, then we should never grow tired. The gift that has been given to us is not only for our enjoyment; but also to serve the Lord and the Body of Christ – the church.

My late Grandpa Coon worked in a brass mill as a laborer. Grandpa Coon had limited education, but he was a wise man. I remember him telling me that if I didn’t feel like getting up in the morning and going to work, I was in the wrong job. What did he mean by this? Most of our lives are spent in the workplace, and if we hate what we do, it will kill us quicker than any disease will. Likewise, the same goes for our Christian service. If we don’t know what our Spiritual gifting is, we need to find out; otherwise, we will become frustrated. God has gifted us to serve Him and bless our brothers and sisters.

God gave His disciples the job of preaching the gospel and laying hands on the sick. They were ambassadors of Jesus Christ. The Lord healed the sick through their faith and the anointing He placed upon them. I am not gifted as an apostle, a prophet, a teacher, or educated enough to be a pastor. What I am, though, is a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. That is it!

Friends, our gifts are to be used for God’s Glory and the profit of all. If we only exercise our God-given gifts as and when it suits us or others, then we are missing the point. Would you pray with me?

Dear Heavenly Father, I praise You today. You are a great God. I am so grateful that You have chosen me to be Your servant, and I want to serve You first and then my fellow brothers and sisters. Help me, Father, to faithfully exercise the gifting You have given me to honor and glorify Your Name. For it is in Your Precious Name, I ask. Amen.

Encouraging Words: God will never leave you empty, and he will replace everything you lost. If He asks you to put something down, He wants you to pick up something more significant.

God Bless you, Friends, and have a Blessed Day <><
