Now Playing Walk With Jesus Consumed By Fire

December 19, 2022

Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. (Revelation 3:19) ESV.

Jesus says, “My grace is sufficient for you” (2 Corinthians 12:9). The grace of God is all we need. You might say, “Randall, you don’t know what I am going through now; my wife has run off and left me. I am finished.” No, you are not because Jesus says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

When you are weak, that is when you are strongest. When you say, “I want to do it my way,” God backs off. When you come to the place where you cannot go on anymore, cry out, “Jesus, help me!” He replies, “Here I Am.” In many ways, we are like little children. They always want to do it their way, so they push your hands away. But what do they do as soon as they get into trouble? They shout to us for help.

For instance, have you ever watched a lifeguard save someone from drowning? When a swimmer gets in trouble and calls for help, the lifeguard jumps in and swims out to save them. It is said that a drowning person can be hazardous because they are desperate and they often panic. Unintentionally they can drown the person trying to save them. Sometimes the lifeguards must knock the person out to safely bring them back to shore. Only when the drowning person has no strength left to fight can they be saved.

Friends, we can be like that sometimes too. Things are going well (the job is outstanding, the family is great, and life is excellent). We are strong. Suddenly, a setback in our life causes us to become desperate, and we try to handle it on our own, we begin to thrash around, and the Lord cannot do anything for us; He stands back. If this describes you, then hear what He is saying to you, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20) ESV. Would you join me in this Pray today?

Dear Heavenly Father, this is me. I am strong and believe I can cope independently. I realize that I make life difficult for myself. Lord, I surrender. Thank You that You graciously stand at the door to my life – I open and invite You in. I trust You, Lord, to take over – I submit to Your Will. Your Grace is sufficient for me. For it is in Your Precious Name, I ask. Amen.

Encouraging Words from Max Lucado: God never said the journey would be easy, but He did say that the arrival would be worthwhile.

God Bless you and have a Blessed Day, Friends <><
