Throwing Ahead Of The Receiver
I grew up with two brothers and a father who loved football. I married a guy who loves the sport and gave birth to a son who played football in high school and so there has been a LOT of football in my lifetime! One thing that always fascinates me is watching the quarterback scan the field and throw the ball ahead of where the receiver is to the spot that he is supposed to run to for that specific play. When that well executed pass is complete its a beautiful thing and can lead to great victory!
Some players make it look so easy. But there is so much preparation behind that well executed pass. Countless hours of practice, weight training, exercise, memorizing the plays, learning the strengths and weaknesses of fellow teammates, the thrill of victory...and enduring the agony of defeat!
Every day we must show up...for our family, for our class, our job...and for God! God has a plan for us today. He's already put it in motion. We need to suit up in His armor. We have to do more than just show up. We may not have run every drill for every play the enemy tries to block us with...but Jesus has! And He promised in Deuteronomy 31:8 that He would never leave us. It doesn't get any better than to have the One who knows how to execute every plan perfectly running it with us!
Prayer. Studying God's Word. Finding a group of believers in a local church that we can lean on and be there for. Sharing our faith with others. Those are all key elements to victory in our faith journey so that we are exactly where God needs us to be for His plan today!
