Episode 70: Author Visit with J. J. Johnson
Ice Cream with Authors: Christian Books for Kids 7-13
Thursday, October 8, 2026 - 26 minutes
In this episode of Ice Cream with Authors, we are visiting with JJ Johnson. JJ is an award-winning middle-grade author, explorer of imaginary worlds, and occasional traveler in a beat-up Dalorean. He writes stories for kids (and the kid in all of us) and weekly essays about unplugging from screens, rediscovering joy, and living simply. His faith, his family, and his love for books, coffee, and the outdoors shape everything he does. If his words bring you back to stillness, connection, or wonder, then he’s done his job.
Ice Cream with Authors is the podcast that brings mini-author visits straight to your home or car! Perfect for kids ages 7 through 13 and their grown-ups, each episode serves up delightful conversations with authors who create faith-filled chapter books and middle grade adventures.
