Walk the same grounds where colonial history started in the United States! Sign the historic visitor book in the 1731 Old Courthouse where the Declaration of Independence was read on August 13, 1776.

Northampton County's court green is home of the oldest continuous courthouse records in the United States. See the original cabinets in the 1750 Clerk Office that stored court records dating from 1632 that included Revolutionary activities---the 1652 Northampton Protest, the 1676 Northampton Grievances, and the labor case of the free Angolan, Anthony Johnson.

Step inside the 1814 Debtor's Prison and imagine life as an Early American prisoner. See artifacts from the John Custis II (c. 1629–1696) Arlington Plantation archaeological dig, Accawmacke tribal hunting grounds, and other historic sites in the county museum in the 1899 (fifth) Northampton County Courthouse.

The Northampton Historic Preservation Society will have speakers, demonstrations, history exhibits, entertainment, Eastville walking tour, food vendors, and more. The family-friendly event is free and open to the public.
