Break The Chains (JJ’s Ride)

We would like to invite you to our Break The Chains event happening on August 2, 2025, starting at 10:10 am. This event is to raise awareness for drug addiction and drug overdose. Break The Chains was created in 2021 in Quarryville, PA after our oldest son, John, passed away from an overdose. Our daughter, Heaven, worked with a family member, Stephen Keefer, to create this event to raise awareness of drug addiction/overdose and to raise money to help pay for John’s funeral. 

This year marks the 5th Break The Chains Event and we are bringing it to Sussex County. We attend Seaford Wesleyan Church (The Ark) and they are hosting the bike rally. We have named this ride JJ’s Ride after our son, John, and our Pastor’s son, Jason, who also passed away from overdose ten years before we lost John. They both shared August 2 as their birthdays, so we felt that would be a meaningful date to hold the event. 100% of any funds raised will go back into the community to help addicts get the help they need for recovery and for education to prevent addiction.
