Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6) ESV.

Everyone needs people in their lives that they can trust. It is super if you do. My best friend is my wife, Brenda. I also have many Brothers in Christ that are there for me and whom I can trust. There are several people at church and where I work that I can trust as well. That is all good stuff.

However, we cannot trust people because we cannot trust ourselves! It all boils down to this simple fact; our flesh is weak. That is why (v.1) is critical, as it says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” Then comes the pivotal point in (v.6), where it says, “In all your ways acknowledge Him….” What does Proverbs say will be the result if we do this? “He will make straight your paths.”

In (Proverbs 3:5-6) we find God’s recipe for living a successful life. As a Youth Pastor, I counseled several youths; some still write me text messages from time to time. Sometimes the youth questioned why God had allowed certain things to happen in their lives. Very carefully and with much love, I had to explain that it was not God who did it. If they were to search their hearts deep, they would find that they trusted a person or an organization most of the time. They trusted in a person’s words instead of trusting in God alone. They took the wrong advice and are reaping from a bad crop. Praise God that it does not end there.

Friends, (1 John 1:9) ESV promises us, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just (because He was crucified for you and me) to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” May you come before God today and ask Him to forgive and restore you? Would you pray with me?

Father, I realize I have looked everywhere but to You for guidance and direction. Please forgive me; I do not blame anyone but myself. Please forgive me, restore me, and lead me in Your Ways. Help me to trust in You alone. For it is in Your Precious Name, I ask, Amen.

Encouraging Words from Billy Graham: Learn to commit every situation to God and trust Him for the outcome. God’s love for you never changes, no matter what problems you face or how unsettled life becomes <><

God Bless you and have a Blessed Day, Friends <><
