Now Playing God Is With Us The Afters

September 14, 2022

Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the LORD, and my right is disregarded by my God”? Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:27-31) ESV

Most of us can safely say that we will never be called to a far country to spread the Gospel. Our mission field is in our homes. The place we work is also a fertile mission field as well.

I heard it once said, “it is not so much the physical separation but the mental and spiritual separation that is so much harder.” What is meant by this is exactly what I spoke about in yesterday’s Devotional Thought. Sometimes it is more difficult being a witness for Jesus in our own families than it would be to go across the seas and do missions work. This is why the root of our faith is having the knowledge of God.

The more we know the Lord personally, the more passionate we will become about Him. Jesus was very passionate about His mission on this earth. His mission was to save you and me. The Pharisees and the Sadducees of Jesus’ day hated Him because of His faith. Jesus made the claim that He was God in the flesh. As we know, they didn’t like that. So they crucified Him. When we tell people that Jesus is God, others will hate us because they hated Jesus. That is the bottom line.

Jesus said in (Luke 21:10-19) ESV, “Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven. But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name's sake. This will be your opportunity to bear witness. Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. You will be hated by all for my name's sake. But not a hair of your head will perish. By your endurance you will gain your lives.” Jesus also said in (Matthew 5:11) NKJV, “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.” So make sure that it is for His Name’s sake and not because we are being rebellious. We need to be humble but walk in faith, and the Lord of faith will walk with us.

Friends, faith has to have feet; it is a doing word. Faith requires action. Would you pray with me?

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise in Your Word that assures me that if I wait on the Lord, I shall renew my strength; I shall mount up with wings like eagles, I shall run and not be weary, I shall walk and not faint. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
