Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. (Psalm 19:14) ESV

There is an enormous amount of power in the spoken word. When we Pray and speak out our thoughts in Prayer, we release that power. We need to find our secret place and then go there to communicate with the Lord. Where do we find a private place, you might be asking? Maybe you live in the middle of New York City in an apartment on the seventh floor. Or it could be that you’re a college student living in a dormitory.

The truth is, we can have a secret place wherever we are – it is not the physical location that matters. Our secret spot is in our hearts, so the Lord will meet with us wherever we are. We can be in the middle of the busiest airports in the world; we can close our eyes and go to our secret place.

The point is that even when we are busy or traveling, we need to be able to go to our secret place. For instance, when I am away, I often feel lonely and miss home. When this happens, wherever I am (could be in a hotel or at an airport), I close my eyes and visualize sitting in my lazy boy at home (early in the morning) with calm music playing in the background, talking to the Lord.

Friends, once we have done this, we talk with the Lord. We can tell Him about our loneliness and how we miss home and family. Then in our Spirits, He will reassure us that He has everything under control. During these times, the Lord reaches down; He renews and refreshes us for the next part of our journey. Would you join me in this Prayer?

Dear Heavenly Father, may You let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, my Strength, and my Redeemer. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Encouraging Words: Encouraging Words from Max Lucado’s book: Grace For the Moment. His words were an encouragement to me this morning - may they also be an encouragement to you:

“Here is a big question. What is God doing when you are in a bind? When the lifeboat springs a leak? When the ripcord snaps? When the last penny is gone before the last bill is paid?...

I know what we are doing, nibbling on our nails like corn on the cob. Pacing floors. Taking pills…

But what does God do?...

He fights for us. He steps into the ring, points us to our corner, and takes over. “Remain calm; the Lord will fight for you” (Exodus 14:14).

His job is to fight. Our job is to trust. Just trust. Not direct. Or question… Our job is to Pray and wait.”

“He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.” (Psalm 62:6) ESV.

God Bless you and have a Blessed Day, Friends <><
