To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:27) ESV
This months’ Devotional Thoughts are concentrated on the attributes of living a faith-filled life. In todays’ Devotional Thought, may I present to you this question: Is Jesus your hope of glory?
Jesus is our hope of glory. This means that we can go wherever God tells us to go. We do not go into a place with the intention of condemning people. Instead, we go in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, showing His Love to all the people we meet. Yes, there will be certain places that the Lord will tell us not to go because the timing is not correct. That is fine. We need to be sensitive and obedient to Him. If we are walking by faith, then God will speak to us. He will tell us what He wants us to do and where He wants us to go. There are also times that the Lord will say to us that we must go somewhere because the people or person needs help.
As I prepared my Devotional Thought this morning, I remember when our church in Louisiana put on this drama called “Heavens Gates and Hells Flames.” At the end of the drama, there was an altar call given. One night during the altar call, a man walked to the altar; this young man had the most amazing facial tattoo I had ever seen; it covered every inch of his face. As I walked toward him, I found myself thinking very critically of him, did he really accept the Lord into his life? Yes, that evening, this young man did give his life to Jesus Christ. I still remember the tears running down his face as he described to me what had just happened to him. He was born again. Although this young man’s face was still covered in tattoos, he had a new heart and a new life in the Lord.
Friends, who are those that overcome the world? They are those that believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. That is what it is all about. As Christians, do we find ourselves walking around on eggshells?” Do we live our lives trying not to upset “these” people; we don’t go “there,” and we are careful to avoid “that” group of people? Watch out because we have the Lord Jesus Christ in us as Christians. Instead of being critical of people who aren’t like us, go to them in the presence and strength of our Lord Jesus Christ and share our hope of glory with them. Would you Pray with me?
Dear Heavenly Father, I ask that I may be filled with the knowledge of Your Will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that I may walk worthy of You. Lord, I desire to please You, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You; strengthen with all might, according to Your Glorious power. For all patience and longsuffering with joy, I give You thanks, my Father. Amen.

God Bless and have a Blessed Day, Friends <><
