And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. (Mark 11:22) ESV
This month’s Devotional Thoughts will concentrate on the attributes of living a faith-filled life. The first attribute is living a life that has a strong faith in God.
When we begin each day spending time in God’s Word, we grow stronger in our faith. When our faith increases, we will find that the things of this world will start fading. If we place our problems alongside the Word of God, they will no longer seem so gigantic.
If you are like me, when I let the toils of this world lay heavy on my heart, I find myself having difficulties sleeping at night. If I discipline myself to view these toils through the context of God’s Word, I find myself not being overwhelmed, and I can see these challenges I face in perspective. Faith is the antidote to insomnia. It is also the antidote to fear. Not faith in faith, but faith in God and Jesus Christ, His Son.
God’s Word is our Manual for life. It has instructions for every facet of life; we will have nothing to worry about if we follow God's Word. The Bible tells us how to love our spouse. It tells us how to treat the people who work with us. The Bible tells us how to treat those less fortunate than we are.
Moreover, if we follow God’s Manual and obey it, we will be filled with ever-increasing faith. Have you ever heard the ole saying, “Success breeds success?” The more we obey God’s Word, the more success we will have in every area of our lives. Why would we want to live in failure when we can live in the fullness of all that Jesus accomplished for us on Calvary?
Friends, the longer we walk with the Lord, the more we enjoy His Word. The Bible is still the bestseller of all time. Yes, it always has been, and it always will be. The Bible is called the Good News because it encourages faith, bringing freedom and life to all who obey It. Would you Pray with me?
Father in Heaven, I realize that only faith in You will bring about change in my life. As I trust You more and more, I will grow in my faith. Spending time in Your Word will teach me to walk in Your ways. I want to develop a positive cycle in my life. Thank You for Your Word. Amen
God Bless and have a Blessed Day, Friends <><
