And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. (Mark 16:15) ESV.

One of our primary purposes as children of God is to fulfill the Great Commission. Before Jesus ascended to Heaven, He spoke to His Disciples and commissioned them to spread His Gospel. Each and every one of them gave their lives to the work of the Gospel.

Throughout the Acts of the apostles, we see the Disciples working tirelessly to establish the church of Jesus Christ. Likewise, as Jesus’ modern-day Disciples, we are commissioned in the same way as the original Disciples. The question is, how are we faring in our fulfillment of the Great Commission?

Sharing the Gospel should be the most natural thing in the world. All we have to do is share our story (our testimony) of what Jesus has done for us and tell people how much we love Him. Whatever a person’s personal belief or opinion, they cannot argue with our experience. We all love a good story. Once you have shared your story (or testimony) with others, it is up to the Holy Spirit to convict them – conviction is not our job or responsibility. We can trust the Holy Spirit to do His Work. The important thing is that the people we live with and work with must be able to see the difference that Jesus has made in our lives. This does not mean that we are perfect; none of us are. However, we must respond with humility and ask for forgiveness when we make mistakes.

Friends, our walk matching our talk is our most excellent witness. We must be careful how we live — not allowing the enemy (satan) to gain a foothold in our lives and ruin our story (testimony). We are children of God and have a Heavenly purpose: to bring glory to God. May we not allow anyone or anything to deter us from that purpose? No temporary gain in life is worth losing our testimony over, no matter how attractive. God’s Word today is to “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” Would you please join me in saying is prayer?

Dear Heavenly Father, help me, I pray, to share my testimony boldly and thoughtfully of what You have done for me. I realize that I am responsible for lining my walk up with my talk, even under challenging situations. Father, I ask that You fill me with the power of Your Holy Spirit and help me always to put my Christ foot forward. For it is in Your Precious Name I ask, Amen.
