Now Playing Keep Me In The Moment Jeremy Camp

January 10, 2023

Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. (Galatians 4:28) ESV.

Some of you are blessed to have had a godly family heritage. You can look back over your family history and thank God for those who have gone on before you.

You have godly family members who have prayed for you, instructed you, and kept you on the straight and narrow. My parents did not come to know Jesus until late in their lives, but they were always an example to me, and I thank God for them.

Some people may reflect on their family history with shame and bitterness. Your father (or mother) may have been an abusive alcoholic. You grew up knowing only emotional and maybe even physical deprivation and punishment. You look around, and you envy those who come from a religious background. Moreover, your lack of “credentials” has made you feel like a second-class citizen in the Kingdom of God, no matter how much you know that all men are equal before God.

It is time that you let this head knowledge sink into your heart. There is only about a ruler’s distance between our head and our heart, but sometimes it might as well be the distance between the earth and the moon.

Today’s Scripture verse tells us that if we are children of God, we are children of Promise. That we are no longer in bondage. Jesus did this for us on Calvary’s Cross. The choice we have to make is whether we will live as a person of Promise or are we going to remain in bondage all our lives. We have been adopted out of our earthly families and into a Heavenly Family (Galatians 4:4-5) says it this way, “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.”

Friends, what is your choice today? Would you please join in saying this prayer?

Dear Heavenly Father, because I am Your child, You sent forth the Spirit of Your Son into my heart, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore, I am no longer a slave but an heir of God through Christ Jesus. Amen.

Encouraging Words: Too often, we feel awkward and unlovely, but in God's eyes, He is making us beautiful.
“He has made everything beautiful in its time” (Ecclesiastes 3:11) NKJV.

God Bless you, Friends, and have a Blessed Day <><
